What Are Invisible Braces?
Invisalign is a treatment that consists of a series of clear plastic trays that apply precise pressure to gently shift your teeth into their desired position. The aligners are made of a smooth, clear, body-safe plastic and are designed to be easily removed to allow you to eat and drink without dietary modification. This treatment can treat mild to moderate malocclusions such as crooked and crowded teeth, gaps between teeth, as well as minor overbites and underbites.
Our Process
When you step into our dental practice in Leamington, you discover the comfortable blend of a welcoming atmosphere and the proficiency of a team with decades of experience. Once you're in the exam chair, our compassionate dentist will discuss the treatment, expectations, and goals with you. We'll perform a thorough exam and use an iTero® scanner to take images of your teeth, jaws, and gums, eliminating the need for uncomfortable, goopy impressions. The scans will be sent to a trusted lab where your Invisalign trays will be created.
When your clear aligners are ready, you will visit our office, where we will walk you through how to use and clean the trays, as well as set up a few appointments so we can monitor your progress and adjust the treatment as needed. During your last few weeks of treatment, we provide free whitening gel that you can use with your final Invisalign tray to brighten your teeth. When your treatment has been completed, you'll receive a retainer so you can maintain your newly straightened teeth.
Quick Treatments
We understand you want to see results, and we offer Invisalign Go to those who qualify for this expedited treatment. This plan is designed to complete your treatment in approximately six months. Invisalign Go is especially popular for those with simple malocclusions who want to straighten their smile for a big event, such as a wedding.
Invisalign FAQs
We encourage you to ask questions and raise your concerns. Our compassionate team is happy to provide answers so you can make informed decisions and feel confident regarding your treatment plan. The most common questions we receive are:
Invisalign clear aligners are easy to care for because they are removable. It's important you take out your trays whenever you eat or drink to avoid staining or damaging them. To keep them clean, you can brush them with a soft toothbrush and soak them in approved cleaners. Never use hot water to clean your aligners, as it may warp them and prevent them from straightening your teeth properly.
Your Invisalign treatment time will depend on a few factors that our dentist will discuss with you, including the severity of your misalignment. In general, each set of trays is worn for approximately two weeks before you graduate to the next set. You must wear your clear trays for at least 22 hours each day. Due to the stringent requirements of the treatment, we only recommend Invisalign to responsible teens and adults.
No. One of the many benefits that Invisalign has over traditional metal braces is that you don't have to avoid hard or sticky foods. Since the trays are removable, you can continue to eat and drink your favorite things. After your meal, it's important to brush your teeth and put your tray back in to maintain your progress. It's also a good practice to brush your aligners before you put them back on your teeth.
Our office has treatment plan coordinators who will work with your insurance company regarding your service. They will sit down with you and discuss your options so you can enjoy quality dental care without feeling financially strained.
